Porn arrest, robbery investigation keep cops busy

Buffalo Grove police are continuing their investigation into an armed robbery reported by a Buffalo Grove resident in the area of Fox Court East and Cobblestone Lane. Police say the robbery occurred around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25.             The victim was reportedly sitting in their own vehicle parked on their driveway when the incident occurred. The robber, described as a black male, approximately 25-30 years of age, 5’7” to 5’8” with a slim build, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a face mask, reportedly approached the vehicle and demanded items from the victim while displaying what is believed to be a handgun.             The victim, who was uninjured, stated the robber took off on foot southbound through the neighborhood, towards the area of Fox Hill Drive and Cobblestone Lane.             This is an ongoing investigation. Weiland Road widening project set to begin next week

Nearly 150 people attended an informational open house Tuesday regarding the Weiland Road widening project.              Representatives from the Lake County Division of Transportation, Baxter & Woodman, the project engineering firm, Lake County Rep. Adam Didech (D-20) and members of the village staff were on hand to answer questions and discuss the project, which is scheduled to start next week.             The first phase will be the .92 mile stretch from Lake-Cook Road to Deerfield Parkway. During this phase, traffic will be on the existing pavement while new lanes are constructed. It is hoped that construction of the new lanes will be completed by the end of the year.             Traffic will shift to the new lanes in early 2020 to facilitate construction of two additional lanes. The schedule calls for roadway construction to be completed in early summer of 2020.              In addition to a wider roadway, the $12 million project will include sidewalk
